Hive Narratives Open Call!

Hive is very excited to announce our second open call for our Narratives section:

For our early August issue, Hive is looking for work that focuses on representations – subjective, fictional and research based – and articulations of the marginalized. We want something original which does not subscribe to commonly-accepted notions, representations or articulations of marginalized populations, groups, communities or individuals.

Narratives in all forms and genres are welcome – including fiction, creative non-fiction, interviews, and elements of the basics of research.

Deadline for submissions: July 27th, 2015

Submission Guidelines:

  • We are aiming to publish at least two Narratives a month, so we are open for year-long submissions.
  • Only one piece may be submitted at a time.
  • Simultaneous submissions are accepted but we request to be informed upon acceptance elsewhere.
  • Submissions cannot be longer than 5000 words.
  • Pieces must be included in a separate attachment. The entry must be Times New Roman font, size 12, double-spaced, and in black ink.
  • Please include your name, contact information, and a brief synopsis of your piece in the body of the email.
  • Also attach an introductory letter for yourself including all relevant information, as well as a brief author’s bio.
